Driven. Dedicated. Passionate. Leader. Rochelle “Shelly” Jones has left her mark on several corporations over the past three decades. Currently she is the Chief Operating Officer at Stewart Miller Simmons Trial Attorneys, a serious injury and wrongful death law firm which has won numerous record setting jury verdicts and made U.S history winning the first billion-dollar jury verdict for a rape victim.
Under Shelly’s guidance, Stewart Miller Simmons (SMS) has represented some of the nation’s highest profile civil rights death cases, including George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks, Gregory Towns, Alton Sterling, Chase Sherman, and Walter Scott. As the COO, Shelly is responsible for accounting, human resources, business development, marketing, and operations.
Prior to opening SMS, Ms. Jones successfully held multiple leadership roles in Strategic Planning, Operations, Sales, and Consulting at companies such as Stewart, Seay and Felton Trial Attorneys, Miniter Group, Executive Alliance, Travelport (formerly Worldspan), Tweaker Inc., Jenny Craig, and The Lovett School. Shelly, with her twin sister Kelly, received academic scholarships to Duke University where they graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Duke, Shelly was a Duke Blue Devil cheerleader, vice president of Dance Black, and held several leadership positions in the Lambda Omega chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Born in New Orleans, reared in Atlanta, Shelly has two adult kids, five crazy nephews, and loves children. An NFL football and NCAA basketball fanatic, Shelly is a long-time volunteer at Caring for Others, an international human services organization that provides food, clothing, and a continuum of services to families struggling with the effects of a natural disaster, impoverished circumstances, and temporary misfortune. Shelly is also an original member of the Convoy of Care, a partnership with her law firm, local news stations, law enforcement, the trucking industry and Caring for Others bringing disaster relief across the globe.
